چکیده

One of the major problems in processing GPS phase observations is estimating the double-difference (DD) ambiguities as integers. Based on carrier phase data only, short observational time spans result in strongly correlated ambiguities and in very elongated ambiguity confidence ellipsoids. As a result the estimation of the integer least-squares ambiguities becomes an extremely time consuming task, when traditional search-methods are applied. In this contribution, it will be shown both analytically as well as numerically, that this can be explained by the distinctivediscontinuity that is present in the spectrum of conditional variances of the DD-ambiguities. In [1] a method has been introduced, that allows an efficient estimation of the integer ambiguities over short observational time spans. This method removes the discontinuity from the spectrum, thereby returning transformed ambiguities that are much less correlated and that show a dramatic improvement in precision. In this contribution the performance of the method will be demonstrated for a number of specific cases.

The least-squares ambiguity decorrelation adjustment: its performance on short GPS baselines and short observation spans

The least-squares ambiguity decorrelation adjustment is a method for fast GPS double-di€erence (DD) integer ambiguity estimation. The performance of the method will be discussed, and although it is stressed that the method is generally applicable, attention is restricted to short-baseline applications in the present contribution. With reference to the size and shape of the ambiguity search spac...

Example Ambiguity Resolution

In the following a simple two-dimensional example of GPS ambiguity resolution is given. Based on a float ambiguity solution, the integer solution is computed using the three admissible estimators, i.e. integer rounding, integer bootstrapping and integer least-squares. This is done for the original (DD) ambiguities, as well as the decorrelated ambiguities. The correctness of these solutions is i...

Evaluation of the Regularization Algorithm to Decorrelation of Covariance Matrix of Float Ambiguity in Fast Resolution of GPS Ambiguity Parameters

Precise positioning in Real Time Kinematic (RTK) applications depends on the accurate resolution of the phase ambiguities. In RTK positioning, ambiguity parameters are highly correlated, especially when the positioning rate is high. Consequently, application of de-correlation techniques for the accurate resolution of ambiguities is inevitable. Phase ambiguity as positioning observations by the ...

Comparison of Different Cdgps Solutions for On-the-fly Integer Ambiguity Resolution in Long Baseline Leo Formations

This paper deals with the real-time onboard accurate relative positioning by Carrier-phase Differential GPS (CDGPS) of LEO formations with baselines of hundreds of kilometers. On long baselines, high accuracy can be achieved only using dualfrequency measurements and exploiting the integer nature of Double Difference (DD) carrier-phase ambiguities. However, large differential ionospheric delays ...

The least-squares ambiguity decorrelation adjustment: a method for fast GPS integer ambiguity estimation

The GPS double difference carrier phase measurements are ambiguous by an unknown integer number of cycles. High precision relative GPS positioning based on short observational timespan data, is possible, when reliable estimates of the integer double difference ambiguities can be determined in an efficient manner. In this contribution a new method is introduced that enables very fast integer lea...
